Speaking of Depressing News

28 04 2014

I have some.

Read the article. It’s okay, I’ll wait.

When it comes to books, I’m pretty open-minded. I read all sorts of things. I enjoy fanciful stories of far off places that defy physics. I enjoy non fiction that delves into the finer points of the human brain.

I understand that this isn’t true of everyone, we all have our preferences. For instance, I am reluctant to read anything my grandmother enjoys because it usually features covers reminiscent of Gone with the Wind were it a softcore feature on HBO. But even so, if she could argue the story, I might be persuaded because you never know.

This is one instance of someone simply not agreeing with content, and then running with it. Running with it so far that they’ve circled the track. And then gone off of it. And robbed a seven-eleven.

You might be thinking by now that I don’t agree with such a reaction and I can say with much gusto, that no, I certainly do not.

Disagreeing with content is one thing, this level of harsh response is another.

I just read this for book club last month. I was particularly disturbed by how easily the truth can be changed in just one generation. The talking pictures on the walls with the “plays” and audience participation was brilliant brainwashing.
I also wanted to let you know that the Picture it & Write publication is finally live. You had at least one piece printed, so I hope you like how it turned out. It’s only the ebook until the proof copy comes in but the paperback should go live before long. Thank you for being a part of that journey.

Can’t wait until I can grab physical copies. I’m honored to be a part of it and despite my recent absence from the picture it and write exercises, I am excited to dive back into them full force! You ladies are awesome and your commitment to charity is admirable.

Look forward to talking to you more!
